School Resource Academy’s Pitch Day is an event of School District of Philadelphia’s Office of Grant Development. Each year, a cohort of principals and their school teams self-select into a 2-year professional development program. Principals and school teams agree on up to 3 school priorities to seek funding. School Resource Academy teaches school teams how to not only raise funding for priorities but also in a sustainable way in order to create networks of wealth to meet yearly needs. School teams learn, including but not limited to: grant writing, crowdfunding, acting, and storytelling. The culminating event, Pitch Day- a “Shark-Tank style” event, provides a forum for schools to pitch a priority in front of a panel of elected officials and foundations.
The cohort for school year 2024-2025 included the following schools:
1) Lewis Elkin Elementary
2) Feltonville School of Arts & Sciences
3) Kensington Creative & Performing Arts High
