Vice President of Finance & Operations
Derik joins The Fund with nearly 15 years of leadership experience in finance and operations management. Most recently, he passionately served as the VP of Operations at the Children’s Scholarship Fund of Philadelphia where he managed a $20M budget, improved operational efficiency, and increased yields through meticulous treasury management. His prudent fiscal management ensured that donor contributions were responsibly stewarded to CSFP’s important mission driven work.
Prior to dedicating his talents to the mission of providing equitable education outcomes for all Philadelphia children at CSFP, he served as the General Manager of the Racquet Club of Philadelphia for 9 years. During this time, he led the organization to two Platinum Club of America designations, the highest level of achievement in the private club industry. Derik’s passion for education-focused nonprofit work came to life when he helped found the Racquet Club’s nonprofit foundation, while serving as its Executive Director, to provide educational and athletic services to children of underserved communities.
Derik holds a BS in Sport and Recreation Management from Temple University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Drexel University. He lives in the Italian Market neighborhood of South Philly with his wife, 5 year old son, and their two canine rescues.
