A Fun “Dress Down Day for Philly Public Schools” Media Kickoff at CAPA High School!

We thank all of the press outlets and our partners who attended our Dress Down Day for Philly Public Schools media kickoff event at the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA)! You can watch some of the fun in this Good Day Philadelphia segment with anchor Bob Kelly who stopped by to help us amplify how everyone can get involved in Dress Down Day: https://fox29.com/video/1209313

This kickoff at CAPA was pretty special because this year’s Dress Down Day has some extra local flavor— in addition to the classic Dress Down Day t-shirt, you can order a special edition tee, designed by streetwear brand P’s & Q’s, owned by brothers Ky and Rick Cao who are also alumni of CAPA! It was very nostalgic for the brothers to come back to their alma mater and give back to the School District of Philadelphia in this way.

“I’ve always told people, I’m a product of the Philadelphia school program,” says Ky. “I feel like it’s given me a lot in life, academically and culturally.”

Ky and his brother Rick attended Fanny Jackson Coppin (formerly Andrew Jackson) School in Passyunk Square and then Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA).

“It was a really incredible experience,” says Ky of CAPA. “It’s just like the movies: One floor there was a group of people singing; then you go to the next floor, they’re acting; and then you go to the very top floor, and they’re painting. It’s great to be in one building full of creative people.”

With the tools acquired at CAPA, the Cao brothers went on to create P’s & Q’s.
