The Fund was pleased to co-sponsor the the Klein College Mock Pitch (KCMP) at Temple University! High school students from Universal Audenried, George Washington High School, South Philadelphia High School, and the High School for Creative & Performing Arts (CAPA) pitched their very own integrated advertising and public relations campaigns to the “client”, the Philadelphia 76ers. The Fund’s very own CEO and President Kathryn Epps served on the panel of judges of the outstanding pitches.
Their pitches were OUTSTANDING! And I’m saying this as someone who has made countless pitches to clients, donors, and sponsors over the last 15+ years.
Yesterday’s display of the extraordinary talent within our public schools is the latest reminder of what an honor it is to serve as CEO of The Fund For The School District of Philadelphia which allows me to invest in programs like the Klein College Mock Pitch Competition. Experiential learning is invaluable and I’m so proud to have sponsored this event. Special shout out and huge congratulations to the team from South Philly High School (pictured here) who won yesterday! Last but not least, thank you to Morgan Pivovarnik and the rest of the Sixers staff for being such an amazing partner/client and to all the Klein College staff and alum that made the event possible. —Kathryn Epps
The KCMP creates opportunities for Philadelphia public high school teens to learn about careers in communication, exposes them to college, fosters a diverse talent pipeline in the advertising and public relations industries and enhances connections between Temple and the Philadelphia community.
Congratulations to South Philly High, selected as this year’s winning team for their “Easy Baskets” campaign!
